AuroraMUSH

Newsletter No.2, 31st October 1998

It's well over a year since the last newsletter was written (shame on me!) and we have a major new feature to announce - MUXPOP3. I will explain what that is in a moment, after I mention that at AuroraMUSH is the only MUX to support this.

You may have noticed that Aurora recently changed the welcome screen to this:

+OK Welcome to AuroraMUSH. Type HELP for help or if you're confused by this.

This is the MUXPOP3 welcome screen. It has to be on one line to fit the POP3 mail protocol. What this now means is that you can use any POP3-compliant mail reader to read your MUX mail. This includes Netscape, Pine, Eudora, Pegasus and Outlook.
An automatic reply-to mechanism and web-mail services are planned for the fairly near future.
